It is the middle of December, and for those of us north of the equator that means we’ll be seeing our shortest days of the year. Short days mean less sunlight, and less sunlight means this is the perfect time to examine our sleeping habits and — if need be — reset our Circadian Rhythm back to normal. We all know that sleep is pretty much mandatory. I mean if you have ever gone successive days with minimal or no sleep, you know that you turn into a zombie. I remember pulling all-nighters in college and even sometimes at work and I'd pretty much be a zombie without the bad makeup for days following. But what happens if we get sub-optimal sleep on a continued basis?

A lot of my clients come to me after years of working in the medical establishment to figure out what is wrong with them. They can sense it that things are not right and lets face it, they feel horrible. Yet the medical establishment will either insinuate that the person has mental illness and its "all in their head", or they will say things like, "huh, I haven't ever seen/heard of that before!"
I have always been fascinated by data. Its why I studied biochemistry and did research in a lab when I was younger. I love that if we collect data, that we can often learn alot about the thing in which we are studying.
Fast foward to my own health crisis and challenges, and it was natural for me to gravitate towards testing and gathering data, I loved the idea of doing functional medicine tests (or labs) so that I could have a direct view on what was happening inside the body, but also to track progress... to know if what I was doing was helping or sending me sideways. ...
