Getting Unstuck by Changing Your Perspective

If there’s one truth in life (besides death and taxes), it’s that, at some point or another, we all get in a slump. There will be days (or weeks…or months…or seasons…) where you will feel bored, stuck, and just plain unmotivated.

Ironic as it may seem, I find that comfort is one of the biggest reasons we can feel discontented. While a certain level of routine and predictability helps us thrive and retain control, too much routine can leave us bored and uninterested. Things are just too simple and unengaging.

Here’s the thing about gratitude, it requires practice for it to really boost our mood. Gratitude helps people return focus to what they have instead of what they lack. And, although it may feel contrived at first, this mental state grows stronger with use and practice.
