Here’s the thing about gratitude, it requires practice for it to really boost our mood. Gratitude helps people return focus to what they have instead of what they lack. And, although it may feel contrived at first, this mental state grows stronger with use and practice[1].

So why is this so important? Well, today I’m going to talk about one key element of how gratitude relates to healing illness. And if you need more than one reason, try 31 of them[2]! Practicing gratitude can boost our immune system [3,5,6] and improve your sleep[4].

This is HUGE when it comes to chronic illness or autoimmunity. Let’s face it, the immune system has gone all whack-a-doodle and can use any and all help to function normally. And while we can do a lot with the basics of diet and supplementation, there is a huge lever that we can move and that has to do with mindset.

Okay so this is all great on paper, but what about putting it into a practice??? Sure we can set a reminder to be grateful on our smartphone, but how many smartphone reminders do you put off or snooze over… and over… and over again? I don’t know about you, but I can quickly grow numb to an automated reminder.
