Attending the Science of Happiness workshop with Vanessa Van Edwards

Last month, I attended a conference unlike any other. I go each year to the World Domination Summit so that I can be pushed just outside of my comfort zone, to get out of any ruts that I might be in and to kickstart me into thinking differently. One of the many reasons why I love WDS is that it examines the question of “How do we live a remarkable life in a conventional world?” Another reason why I love it? The core values are Community, Adventure and Service - but more on those later!

This year, I started taking that question and turning it inward toward my work. So how do we live a remarkable life despite having chronic illness or autoimmunity? This is the essence of the work that I do.

Sure we can run tests, go deeper, find co-infections, malfunction and work to repair that with diet and supplements. This is a good portion of what I do with clients. But really, is that enough? I assert, that diet and supplements are not the whole story when it comes to transformation.

The transformation comes when we examine that question of “how do we live a remarkable life… ?” How do we find gratitude on a day where we have no energy to get out of bed? Where did all our joy go once illness took over? It’s so easy to get hyper-focused on what is wrong. The answer is to take really small steps and re-focus on the positive.
