Now for something completely different...
Last summer was hard to beat (my husband and I toured the Pacific Northwest in our Eurovan). However, I have been pleasantly surprised that while I stayed in California this summer, I have had one of the best summers yet. Ironically, there were no epic road trips, in fact we didn't go camping once! But there was plenty of time for reflection and gaining clarity on what is most important.
Perhaps you can relate, but earlier this year I found myself stretched thin with work tasks while trying to manage a household move. I felt busy all the time, yet also couldn't understand why I never felt accomplished or productive.
I decided to change my relationship to busy. And instead, I started to pursue only those tasks that were important. And in order to deem what was important over the noise, I started to block off regular reflection time. Over the months, I have built a disciplined approach to getting laser focused on what matters most, making daily progress towards those goals and yet at the same time having more free time and freedom than ever.
